HUICHOL ART

Biography

Huichol Art

Huichol Art is the most
Traditional and least acculturated of all the indigenous peoples in the world. The art of the Huichols is primarily an expression of the spirit and the culture. From the tiny patterns incorporated into the day to day living, an often astonishing visionary portraiture is shown in their yarn paintings & bead work. The subject matter of their art is vast and elaborate in mythology.
This involves the essence of the animal & plant life in their environment. This art style covers a timeframe of 100  years and it continues to evolve and change. The Dr. Harry Abrahm's collection, part of which is shown here, is one of finest to exist in the 21st century.
