Calligraphy, the art of fine handwriting, can take many forms. From Christmas cards to fine works of art, practitioners continue to refine old forms and find new uses for calligraphy. The one thing that remains the same is the ancient art's ability to inspire humility - the more one realizes how much, he or she, still has to learn. Diana Stetson has studied and practiced calligraphy for two decades, including intensive studies in London, Hong Kong and Japan. Diana is the forefront of artists using calligraphy in combination with other mediums. Calligraphy, for instance, is considered the purest form of art in Japan and China. Diane uses her calligraphy in her collages and paintings, often interpreting the words of a friend or a poet providing a thread of appreciation of words and thought in the piece of art. Diane is a graduate of Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
